DSMLINK running with stock Eprom?

I just got my Eprom 1G ECU and I also downloaded DSMLINK from its website.
What I wanted to know is if I can hook it up just to test if everything is running good, or must i put in the chip frist?

(reason why... This will be running in my Elantra and I wanted to see if I wired everything up right.)

What do you mean that you downloaded DSMLink from their website???

I'm not sure what your asking.

How did you download DSMLink from a website. The 1G DSMLink is a daughter card the replaces the EPROM chip. The client software only works with DSMLink equiped ECU's.

The client software. You can't just download the $565 product.

You can't use the software you downloaded without having the chip installed in your ecu first-then you can use the cable to link your ecu to your laptop and tune the car with the program.

So your looking for some datalogging software so you can see what's going on?

Do you have a logger cable?
Palm or PC?

Nothing. I see you edited the oriiginal post so now we know what your tring to do.
The chip has to be installed for the client software to connect to the ECU. At least that's what happens here when I hook it up to a stock ECU.

There's no difference-you just can't use the software without having the chip(hardware) installed. Just downloading the software is like having a copy of word perfect and no computer to use it.
