dsmlink compatability?

I am new to dsmlink(loving it). I was interested in a perrin boost controller http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=3659& and it says it is controlled with ecu(dsmlink) so was wondering if anyone has used this combo and how it worked for them. Thanks

Dsmlink currently doesn't have the ability to control the BCS.

That is a really need unit. That would be awsome if DSMLink did support it! You should post something up in DSMLink forums, mabey on the V3 suggestions thread and mabey Dave will add that into V3 (if it ever comes out).

I've personally never found the need for an EBC.

With DSMLink you can tune your car for different settings and save them, then re-load when warranted (say winter/summer tune, WI or not, etc.). Now if a boost control function WAS in DSMLink, then I could see the need for an EBC, then I could save different tunes that were based off of different boost settings, etc.

However, with an EBC alone you can't/shouldn't just turn the boost to whatever, then run it without any tuning afterward...............so what's the point? Other than to take an extra couple of hundred dollars out of your pocket.

The biggest benefit to a true EBC is it's ability as a traction control device. As all of those in question have AWD cars, the ability to use a lower boost level in first and second gear really doesn't have any real benefit.

I don't recall ever seeing an EBC that has a clutch wire attachment...........how does it know what gear I'm in?

I have however seen a couple of threads on the DSMLink forum where the use of a 2-stage MBC has been incorporated with the "nitrous" controls and FPS to switch from low to high boost settings for just the reason you described.......traction control.

The Apexi AVC-R allows you to use lower boost in lower gears.

Dsmlink does offer the somewhat of an ability to use the FPS as a boost contoler. Its actually the nitrous contole. A couple of FWD guys use it to activate their second stage.
