As the title states... I just found a set of new wisecos with rings already hung on reconditioned, balanced, and arp'ed 1g rods for $500. That's only $1 more than the 2g/1g combo. I know the 2g/1g has been proven to withstand a lot of hp but forged pistons on 1g rod for the price difference.
What I am concerned about is wearing down the pistons (wiseco) even more since they aren't meant to be machined and stuff like that.
Any reasons to go with 2g pistons on 1g rod over the wiseco on 1g rods?
Any thoughts or experiences on this please feel free to comment. Wisemens, experienced engine builders, and machinists are also welcome!
