dsmchip install now when i put car into ignition clicking all over!!

As i said, i got a dsmchip from dsmchips.com. got the clutch switch wired up and then pulled out ecu. opened it up, removed the chip using desauder?? (sp Sorr) wire and pulled the chip out. I put the dsmchip in and now when i go to start everything is clicking. can anyone gimme some ideas. i dont really know where to start... car will turn over but not start all accessories work. thanks tuners~!

I have never had your specific problem because I bought a used old school TMO Eprom ECU and the guy told me it worked...turns out it clicked every solenoid under the hood, and drove the injectors 100% when I turned the key on.

I think you need to contact Dave Mertz at DSMlink. His rates are great and he knows DSM ECU's.

Something like $66.00/hr in 10 minute intervals. He traced a few circuits on my 95 Eprom and found the problem and fixed it and charged me $44.00 for the ECU shipped back to me. He packed it very good in solid foam and I recieved it and installed it.....car cranked right up and runs great....

are you saying that you desoldered your stock EPROM yourself? Was this the frist thing you have ever desoldered? And you did put a socket in their correct? You did say. Their is a chance that you lifted a trace. Also the notch in the EPROM faces in on the ECU when you install it.

As said two post up, you put the chip in backwards. You might have gotten lucky and didn't burn out the chip, I didn't. Good luck

ive sodered lots of things in my lifetime, little while back i had an internet job of saudering xboxs so id like to think im not a complete noob. as to the in backwards you can bet your bottom dollar i'll check. (id also hope im not as dumb as that but i guess you never know) thanks tuners! if you have any other ideas feel free to post em
