Get your ECU socketed, then plug the chip in and go to town.

You should have gotten a username and password to the ECMLink forums when you bought your program- if not, you need to bug the previous owner about it until he gives it to you. There is a wealth of information on that site regarding everything from basic to advance tech questions about the program.

:ohdamn:

1. Is your ECU socketed? If not, you need to send it to ECMTuning to have them put a socket in.
2. If it is, you need to carefully remove the stock EPROM chip (use a butter knife and pry slowly and gently). Then carefully insert the red ECMlink chip, making sure you fully seat it.
3. Reinstall the ECU in your car.
4. .........
5. Profit.

I have a eprom ecu, and i bought link from a vendor sale. How do i get dsmlink in my ecu, and in my car. Any clues on the process?
Did the reseller you bought from offer any help on this? We're trying to get feedback on how much our resellers are really helping their customers out. Some are fantastic, but many others are just making the sale and stepping aside.

The basic ordering process is outlined on the following page.

ecmlinkordering [ECMTuning - wiki]

That includes instructions on how to check for ECU compatibility and whether or not you need socketing. Once you determine what you need, drop us a line and we'll get you pointed in the right direction for placing the order for the work to your ECU (socketing or non-EPROM conversion).

Well, they havent even sent me a tracking number and the last time i ordered from them it took me three weeks to receive my order, so i doubt this time its gonna be any different. They have basically stepped aside in walking me through getting my ecu ready for dsmlink. I have been clueless for sometime on how this works and finally went balls to the wall in ordering it because i've decided to just man it up and wait it out. Ill be checking my ecu today and hopefully getting it to you guys soon, although i have no idea on how the shipping works...
