I am in the process of ordering the v3 full bundle and I had a question about what else I need to order vs. what I do not need to order. I know the package is a must, I also have the boost control solenoid there as well. I guess my question pertains to the SD bundle and the GM MAF cable. What one should I go with if any? I want to be prepared for whatever the future holds but if I get the SD bundle do I even need the GM MAF cable? Im at a total loss and have confused myself to the point of having to ask so can someone please help clarify this? Thanks.

I just ordered it cause I will probably be doing the GM MAF and at this point whats another $75 anyways.

I'm not very familiar with the differences in the two to be honest but for the sake of getting things here and ready I just ordered both. Whatever one is not needed can always be resold but from what I gathered from the dsmlink wiki you can still run the maf and use it to tune in the sd or something along those lines. I'll be reading up on it tonight and whatever route is take the hardware will be here to do so. If there are any good reads please post a link but I'll be digging either way.

The GM MAF setup will require some additional parts (GM MAF, reducer couplers, t-bolt clamps for couplers, hacking up UICP). It has issues when trying to run in various weather conditions and can be finicky when trying to tune.

The SD bundle will come with everything needed to be up and running. It is a bit more difficult to get up and running if you're not familiar with tuning, but will be the better choice in the long run. It is not affected by weather.

According to your profile, you might still have the stock intercooler pipes. If so, you'll have to put the IAT bung in the throttle body elbow (hopefully you purchased an IAT bung that is the same material as the elbow, which I think is aluminum).

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the informative response. I'm thinking sd is going to be the route of choice from what my late night readings and your post have told me.

Yeah I can't wait to get it all in and start playing around with it myself. Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning between my machine work being just about done and this now coming in. Just sent the ecu out to be socketed a few hours ago so it's all a waiting game.
