Im in the market for an aftermarket ignition. Digging through the forums, cant really decide what works the best for our cars. But Im leaning towards a Dynatek Arc-2. Dont care for C.O.P. unless it can possibly provide a gain.

What setups are you running and why do you think it works for you?

Also, anyone know how power our stock ignition provides?

Stock iginition has shown to be good for 130+ mph traps.

COP has shown to only be affective when changing the ignition dwell time using AEM or some other standalone or a CDI.

However, many have used the stock dwell time and have seen improvement Example: a guy here in Utah has a 1g that puts down around 640awhp, during his first dyno run he tried both the stock ignition (known to be in good working order) and the COP. The car responded better with the COP.

Some have also put on a COP and their car ran like complete ass. Whether it was error on the parts behalf or the installer is unknown though.

I personally would stick with the stock ignition until othing else can be upgraded.

Or if you come across a COP (or other aftermarket ignition) for cheap then why not throw it on? Such as with my case. I bought a high quality 300M COP (exact copy of the Buschur kit) for only $100 off a friend.

Lol I like that, because there always something to be upgraded :D

Im at the point where my ignition is too weak I believe, gapping spark plugs down sacrifices streetability I have my Bp7es's at .024 . When I start my car cold it is insanely rich and doesnt idle correct till I let it warm up. Afr's are less stable because the plugs get cold when not loading them. I think Id gain alot by running something like an arc 2 with restrike, but I want to see what everyone runs and there opinions.

Dynatek Arc-2 is a fantastic system and have only heard good reviews on it. Local GSX here had to upgrade to it once he reached the 600awhp mark and its still working great at over 700awhp.

We just cracked the 700whp barrier today on stock ignition, stock TB, 2 liters, and E70 winter blend. Running BR8ESs gapped to .020, start/idle/part throttle is like stock with FIC 1650s and easytune on DSMlink V3 SD.

There's your problem. Run a better plug. Try a non-projected tip plug and see if that helps.
