Hey guys, I recently bought a 96 GST with a blown headgasket and I did a full 6bolt swap on it. It's come a long ways, and I've been really "nit picky" about everything. With this problem, I've tried everything and searched forever to try find a solution but just can't pinpoint it. Ok well when I open either of my 2 doors, the "door open" light and the dome/under dash lights do NOT come on but I go to open my hatch, my "door open" light comes on but the dome/under dash lights still don't. I've tried cleaning/replacing the door sensors but still, nothing. I don't get it. I've searched every forum and no one seems to have an answer.

Sidenote: The lights did work when I first got the car and then when I got it up and running again, they stopped working. Then when I got a new cd player for it, everything seemed to work properly again, then after a while, they stopped working again.

Sidenote 2: I've tried resetting the battery a number of times to no avail, so it has nothing to do with that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you take apart the door switched and clean ALL of the corrosion that's inside the switch? Aside from that, it's prob some bad wiring causing the lights to not pop on for the lower bulbs assuming they aren't blown.

i would check to see if your bulbs are not blown first. Then check to see if you are getting power where the bulb goes in to the socket using a test light. After you have done all that an still nothing check the fuse. The worst case scenario its a bad wire some where. Good Luck
