I have a coule audio questions.

1.) whats the best headunit for under $350?? i want something that has good features and something that i can build off of.

Im going to be running Infinity Referance series speakers in all of the factory locations, and a 10 inch Infinity subwoofer.

2.) What amp should i use to power my 10 inch sub?

3.) what amp should i use to power my speakers?

Im not concerned with how hard my system pounds, i just want something that can be turned up loud and not get distorted, but still have a nice sound and feel the bass on your back.

Can someone point me in the right direction. I have a 98 Eclipse GS.

1) Pioneer or Alpine. I prefer Pioneer. Make sure you get one with 3 RCA (front, rear, sub) outputs, because you are going to be running an amp for the front, rear, and subwoofer.

Infinity is a great brand of speaker, good choice.

2) Is it a Perfect 10.1, or the reference series? If your going reference, go with a 150-200 watt RMS MTX or Phoenix Gold, Rockford Fosgate's new power series is very nice, but more watts then you need. If your going with the 10.1 perfect, get a 300-400 watt RMS amp of the same brands, they are all quality amps.

3) Are they components, or coaxals? If you haven't bought them already, I would HIGHLY recomend components, they have much better sound quality, and can get much louder with no distortion. Your going to need a 4 channel amp, unless your running just the front speakers. I'll assume your running coaxals in the back, and components up front (ideal set-up). I have a thing with my amps matching, maybe you dont. But you need a 150x4 of which ever brand you feel is best.

My top amp choices:
1) Zapco (best sounding amp you can buy IMO, but very expensive)
2) Xtant (second to Zapco, also pretty expensive)
3) Phoenix Gold, MTX, Rockford Fosgate Power (not punch). (all mid level amps that sounds good)

I stand by those names.

If you're looking for an AWESOME deck, get a nakamichi CD400. It looks stock so it will detract thieves, and it doesn't have the bling bling features like most units today have, but its one of the few units that produces the most Clean, Pure sound ever. If your goal is SQ, t hen the nakamichi will Definately have an advantage over most decks today, and it is soooo easy to use.

If you're going for sound quality like you said, i'd reccomend geting some Q-form kickpanels from www.qlogic.ws Put your front stage in kickpanels and it will open up a new world to audio greatness.

Your amp dilemma is simple. Run it all at once. Orion cobalt 5 channel amp. 4 for your speakers and one for the sub. I used to own a CS500.5 and I can attest to it being a bulletproof amp.

A little advice if you're going for SQ. Whlie your front stage are in kickpanels, mute your rear speakers to about half volume. You will Love this!
