My sunroof refuses to work. Ive tried everything so far to get it going. The motor is fine, the control unit "black box" is new, Ohm'd out the switch and its good. The orange wire in the harness is NOT grounded when drivers side door is shut, fuses and relay have been replaced. Does anyone have any wiring diagram's for the sunroof... there are none in my haynes manual. I want to make sure this new control box is OK. I really want to put my headliner back in so please help out here guys.

The best I can offer, this is a problem with mine now. The sunroof is aftermarket and the track started stripping out, making a clicking noise. If it shuts all the way it will stop working, but you can feel power in the switch. By pushing gently at the back of the sunroof the switch will engage and it will open. I use it for the vent only, so I can slowly open and close it and it will get me by until I can fix it. I understand this is frustrating but it let's me enjoy it, good luck with your trouble.

Thanks man def. appreciate the suggestions. I actually have tried that and I have a stock sunroof wich has a good 12 wires running this thing. My real problem is that im not getting the proper power to some of the wires and im not sure which wires need power. I guess what im really after is a wiring schematic. Ive got the dsm cd, haynes manual and there is literally nothing showing the wire codes and what I need. Do you know of any free sites that give diagrams? and thanks again for your help!

Hey guys just diagnosing my sunroof issues and need to know where ALL the fuses are for a 2g sunroof. I have read that there are fusible links, and it would be nice to know where they're at before I gut the dashboard trying to find em'... all fuses are good at both fuse blocks. Also if anyone knows how many hot wire's feed the sunroof controld "ecu" unit that would drastically help me!

Thanks in advance!

Where is the sunroof relay.... previous owner robbed all the fuse panel covers before selling to me so I have no way of telling what is what. Tried posting in the interior / exterior sections with no results

my appoligies in advance for posting here!

Quoting Chiltons manual: (Thricestrat)

A number of fusable links are used throuought the vehicles to protect wiring and electrical componants. There is a collection of fusable links located near the battery. These are refered to as main fuse links. A second group of links are located in the box with deicated fuses. If replacement of a fuse link is required, use the exact same link as removed.

They state the importance of finding out what made it blow in the first place, good luck with this.

Update:

pulled my dashed, traced the wires. Finally got a wiring schematic for the sunroof. I ran 12v (from battery) straight to the hot wires feeding the sunroof and it works. I then tried to figure out why my 2 wires werent getting 12v. Both fuses are fine and have power in and out... so I must have a break somewhere between the fuse and the sunroof ecu. These wires are coded Red w/ black tracer (18 gauge) and red w/ green tracer (also and 18 gauge). As a test for anyone looking to test their sunroof ecu this is what I did... Pull harness out of sunroof ecu .... cut 2 wires I just mentioned and the Orange wire. Feed them with 12v (from battery not ign. wires) then test operation. You must cut these wires (not tap them) because if you have a short you may start a fire or back feed a relay (causing it to trip) and give you irregular symptoms. I'm going to snap pics tonite of all the wiring the sunroof has and make a writeup to eliminate the need for people to pull their dashboards:thumb: (worst experience ever LOL). Thanks for all your help Bubbs Malone. If anyone has any questions at all... trust me I know the entire system at this point... and im sure I can lead you in the right direction!
