Hi guys. So I have a reman ecu in my 90 awd. I am chasing a non functioning tach..beginning to believe I don't have a 90 ecu. But I don't have any info outside of the reman tag..which I peeled back and they removed the oem numbers. Can anyone identify by looking at the board itself? Thanks!

Usually there are big numbers around this area. Is the back blank too?

1990 requires a "Tach Filter" on the engine intake for the proper operation of the tach in that year and that year only. It has its own electrical plug also. Only 1990.

It's a 90 Turbo non-EPROM ECU. Which I can't tell offhand. The rebuilder has removed the identifying marks. On the 91+ ECUs the two Resistors R129 and R130 can indicate what it's for but not all of the 1990 the software versions use them to configure it behavior.

The three vertical hybrid IC's (white ceramic circuit boards) around the caps are specific to the 90 and earlier ECUs. The later ECUs had two.

The flat ceramic circuit board in the lower left is the knock sensor board which makes it a Turbo ECU. This is missing on a NT ECU.

In the lower right you don't have a EPROM chip or the port expander required to support it.

The only identifying feature left is the software version in the microprocessor E255. That looks like its used on the 1990 Federal FWD MD128625 ECU.
