Alright im starting my rebuild on the blown HG but i gotta get it to my buddy's garage about 2miles down the street... It runs with a misfire and backfires some.. Im just wondering if it would be safe do drive it there the way it is.. We are going to drain the coolant filled oil and put in new Oil and Water and clean up the plugs abit.. What you guys think ?

Please dont drive it. You can get a few buddies to help you push it that far. Its not worth it.

I wouldn't you could spin a rod and a possibility then of putting a hole in the motor never worth it. Or worse lock the engine up.

Alright thanks guys. There already is Anti Freeze in the engine.. And i let someone test drive it up and down the road it seemed to run alright kinda rough and misfired abit but it didnt overheat think that did more damage?

You should never run an engine with a fragged head gasket. Its hard to say whether you caused more damage or not until you get a look at the crank/ bearings. Coolant going into the combustion chambers could hydrolock the motor, bending/ breaking rods- this didnt happen to you, youd know it if it did. Thing is, that coolant getting into your oil is going to destroy the oil's viscosity, and the motor spins at hundreds to thousands of RPMs, so check your rod and main bearing surfaces and the journals on the crank when you take the motor apart to see if there's any scoring. Also, it'd be a good idea to take your oil pump apart and see if the shafts are torn up. (Do not skip checking that pump!!) Take the head to a shop and have the deck checked and get it resurfaced if necessary as well and check the cams and the cam journals for damage while youre at it...

Lol, why even inquire...
Its called washing when antifreeze gets in the oil, because in a nutshell antifreeze counteracts the purpose of what oil does.
So basically, everytime antifreeze passes through any rotating parts, its not getting lube, thus scaring occours. If your lucky and theres not much in the oil, you may be alright. But for sure you need to check all the rotating assembly now. Or just pay some one to do it for ya if your too lazy :D

yeah.. thanks again guys.. I had a tow lined up and they blew me off... So i ended up driving it there. It drove pretty smooth and didnt stall or overheat.. Im starting tomorrow on it so we'll see what happens. Peace.
