Just wanted to put this out and see if any one's had an issue like i did last night. I put it in this section since i guess it's the block and head areas.

I was driving in flooding rains last night and the car seemed low on power but i wasn't too worried. Then it started dieing, i would keep it floored to only see a few hundred RPM, then it would seem to clear up and let me drive a bit and then started again.

I"m thinking i may have taken enough water in teh filter to start drownding out the spark, but i've never had that happen in the past so i don't even know how possible that really is. I mean i've had a distributor get wet and lose spark, but this is a DIS system and the only part near the ground was my air filter.

any thoughts?

I guess i'm going to start double time on getting my good engine back together in case i did some real damage.

The problem could have been electrical. After cleaning my Talon's engine with a pump up sprayer it ran ok for a while then very rough for a while until it dried up.

Hmmm flashback. My 1949 Desoto would die after running through puddles and only the sacrifice of a tee shirt on the plugs to make it run again.

well, after a rough start it got me to work and back jsut fine. I think it could have eitherbeen electrical ( i mounted my fuse box under the fender) or it may have been the filter sucking up a ton of water as it was soaking wet still this am and drowning the car out when it needed air.

Glenn.. Clean that filter, and use compressed air to make shure that Fuse box is Dry..

This might be a good time to Seal it up water tight with Silicon....
