Well I've searched and came up with nothing. One of the carrier bearing mounting studs decided to break. I haven't had a chance to really look at it yet, but I was wondering if anyone has replaced these before and if its pretty easy.

Any input would be great.

I had that happen. Just drill out the spot welds or grind it flush and weld on a new bolt.

I've never had to repair one of those, but I did have to remove the bracket from my car, weld in some bolts from the backside, and re-weld the bracket back onto the car. It's not a very difficult process if you have a lift, but it's a bit of a PITA to re-weld the bracket back in while laying on your back with the car on jackstands.

Maybe these pictures can be somewhat helpful.

I don't know of an easier way to do this, so if there is an easier way, maybe one of the other guys can chime in.

It's not as bad as it looks. Pick up a Blair spot-weld removal bit to drill through the 18 spot welds holding it on the car. And set your heat low when you weld the bracket back on. Thin sheet metal doesn't like alot of heat. It's a PITA to be working on your back, but the job isn't as bad as it seems. Good luck to you. :thumb:
