I'm at wits end. My drivers window won't roll all the way up without getting cocked at an angle. The front seems to stick and the rear pops out at an angle.

I've disassembled it, cleaned and lubricated all the track, followed the guide for a 2G adjustment, nothing seems to work.

What am I missing, doing wrong?? Has to be something simple I'm overlooking.

Thanks

I've had the same problem as you since I bought my car and have not come up with a solution so I too would love to hear some feedback. I have to always press down on the back side right before it reaches the top to get it to align.

I'm going to pull mine all apart tomorrow and see if I can come up with a solution. I was looking at it tonight and it looks like there is some kind of plastic guide that keeps the window straight. I might be able to make some new pieces.

same problem on my 1gb passenger side window, part of the guide within the door is broken, for me it was a plastic piece so I didn't attempt to fabricate anything, just left it, I don't use that guy much anyway as my AC works :)

I just replaced the doors. Went to an auto shop and they said the guides get worn down and that's what cause's the tilt.

On the 2g's, maybe for the 1g's also, there is a plastic guide that helps keep the window straight. It is a white plastic piece. Mine is broken on the gsx and the window gets crocked sometimes and doesn't shut right. I believe replacing that piece would fix it. But i cant seem to find out where i can find those pieces.

My only problem is I cant even move my hands through it. I dont wanna mess anything up you know. Plus just getting the door handle out on a 1G is such a pain in the ass!

Same here. I have had this same problem with my driver side window for over 5 years now. It sucks. Lol

Well, glad I'm not the only dummy that can't figure out how to fix it. Replacing the entire door might work, but my luck the new door would have the same problem.

Thanks for the info about the plastic strip. haven't seen it, but at least I know what to look for.

I'm repainting the car later this month, might take another stab at it while I'm in the shop. Got a few little odds and ends to take care of anyhow. Shop is about 80 miles away so I only go when I have something major to work on, or a bunch of little stuff.

Lol guys come on!!!! I had the same problem when I bought mine a couple months ago. What I did to fix it was take the door panel off and loosen the door track and smacked the track forward tightened it back down, then in the top of the door by the mirror I took a flathead and pryed the window seal apart and lossened it up and sprayed wd40 down it, and its worked perfect for the passed 7months no problem hope this helps

If you mash the middle guide up a bit and put bearing grease inside the rubber guides a the both ends of window the window just SLIDES right up :)

My 1g window used to go up half way and get stuk then the back would jump of the rail and it would go up wrong.

if your window gets caught on one side and dosent rise fully , it’s most likely off track .Plastic rollers run on the rail and they tend to brake or wear down , so you’ll have too loosen the rail , Then guide it back up . Take apart your door panel , screwdriver should be like 5 screws , one behind the handle , on the side. Also unscrew the power flip switch unit from under the door panel . under the mirror there are 2 bolts and 2 nuts , take those out They hold the rail in place . Clip the button switch wire back on . Use Your hand to guide the window Up .Slowly on the track , while pressing the button Till it fully closes . You’d have to buy new plastic rollers or find some at the junkyard after to make sure it dosent happen again .
