Whilst dropping off my rotating assembly at the local race/machine shop for full balancing, they had a lot of varieties of "Driven" oil. Break-in, synthetic, and 10w40 conventional.

Specifically I'm interested in the 10w40 https://drivenracingoil.com/i-30497806-hr5-10w-40-conventional-hot-rod-oil.html

Anybody have any experience.. first, second, or third hand?

I don’t use it, but it is good oil. Most formulas have a lot of zinc which can be important for some applications.

I use Valvoline VR1 because it is convenient but would move over to driven if it were easier to find in the weight my engine likes.

This guy provides some numbers and explanations which may be helpful. The total seal piston rings channel does as well.

Here are some new oil analysis for racing oils.

Yeah they seem to have the break-in oil but not the regular convention 10w40 for analysis done. I was hoping for an analysis on the HR5 to compare against VR1.

Alright so I have a response from Driven. It's not a data sheet or independent VOA but this is from them:

"The HR 5 zinc content is around 1800ppm with 3000ppm of detergent and moly levels at 500ppm."

I don't have any film strength numbers but will see if I can get them.
