So I'm running a drain on the HX40 that is slightly over 3/4" ID, but I'm getting tired of the minor leaks. I'm using a small radiator hose that fits nicely, but obviously it's not made for oil so it gets soft and leaks as I tighten the clamps, until the clamps just chew into it and there isn't much left.

Does anybody have any sources for a tough hose that will hold up to the heat and oil, but can still be bent into a roughly 90* bend, with a radius of 3 inches or so?

Something like FI hose would be nice, but I can't find any that big. I thought about some pushlok type hose, but I can't find a small section of it in that size. I'm guessing it would be somewhere around -14AN, if that size even exists. I might be able to use -12AN hose, if it will stretch a bit.

Ideas?

-14 doesnt exist...it goes from -12 to -16

Try ordering a piece of -12 pushlock hose from one of our vendors. I know that extremepsi sells it.

-14AN hose is nowhere to be found. I just installed a HX35 on my 90 and I went through a ton of fittings and hoses to try to make something fit. With such a large hose (1in ID.) and so little space I gave up and went to the parts store and found a hose to fit. I am in the process of finding that hose in silicone. I hope I can find one that way I will not have to worry about fittings. I have seen some people use the pushlock hose but they have angled fittings installed so they did not have to bend their hose. By the way I have -12AN fittings in the pan and CHRA so include the threads and it measured out to a little more than 1". I will let you know if I find my hose in silicone, maybe it will work for you too.

No silicon for me thanks. :)

I found some -12AN pushlok that I may try. It may stretch enough to fit over the pipe on my turbo and drain pan, although it may be too tight of a fit. One is right at 1" OD, and the other is slightly smaller. If it does go on, it probably won't come off without a razor blade.

I guess I could try some regular -14AN SS hose... just seal the ends to keep from fraying and use plain clamps.

Well I just need a hose at this point. I have a plain big-ass pipe welded to the oil pan, and a custom aluminum pipe outlet on the turbo.

You have an email Corey. ;)

^ FIXED ^ :ninja:

Get a Samco radiator hose for that beast turbo drain line, they're a lot thicker than a conventional radiator hose and should be able to hold up to the heat. More than likely though, you'd have to contact Samco and talk to a rep about getting one you need.

Returned the email.
