i was wondering since i just baught my car and it came with some pacesetter down pipe on it i wanna replace it with say like a apexi to match the exhust but im not sure do the apexi one comes with cats or kno ? i was also just thinking about buying a hks full exhust cause i hear they sound pretty good so let me kno what you think

A pipe is a pipe buy the right size bolt it on and, be done with it. They all sound the same. The only thing that makes the sound difference is the size of the pipe and, the muffler style.

well sound kinda makes a diffrence to me i dont want to start a war over apexi vs hks i was just wondering what people thought and im goanna take the one that is on now off so im really not sure what way to go

i'm not quite sure i'm understanding your question, do you have an aftermarket cat and cat-back already or do you just have the pacesetter dp attached to the stock cat or test pipe?

Personally, if you already have the pacesetter dp i wouldn't dump it. Like DSM BEEYACH said, a pipe is a pipe. The only prlblem i could see you running into is getting a cat-back from one company, a dp from another company and the flanges not matching up for the cat/test pipe/resonator. I think the smartest and cheapest thing to do would be pick out the muffler of your choice and take it to an exhaust shop. It will be cheaper and you know that everything matches up when you get it back. :thumb:

It all depends on which way you want to go. If your looking to upgrade for sound or performance. Going with a 3inch pipe will give you a deep rumble and, louder over all exhaust and, more over head for performane upgrades in the future. 2.5 inch will work just fine for you if you just want a loader exhaust. Also cat no cat high flow cat will make some difference. The only difference between HKS and, apexi is that one cost an arm and, a leg and the other one just cost a leg.

I Had a pace setter downpipe for my old 2g, I was 3" and had no flanges, and ya a pipe is a pipe. so I'm assuming that yours doesn't have a flange either so it probably has a welded in aftermarker cat. honestly the sound comes from the rest of the exhaust, size of muffler and maby the cat but a down pipe is really a downpipe.

What is going on with people paying alot of money for exhausts. I always buy a decent cat a very long straight through muffler from ebay for like 40$ and have it custom done at a exhaust shop. it costs way less also. not to mention i know of some of the apexi downpipes That have the little bracket to mount up completely stock. but that bracket tends to crack and break around the weld.
