door wont close!

Ok if i get in my car with the window up and try to close it, it wont close all the way the open door light comes on. if i lower the window just below the seal and close the door it closes fine then i have to close the window again. its really annoying. anybody have a similar issue? if so howd you fix it. i dont know of anyway of adjusting the window or anything. so please let me know.thanks

Your car might be sealed very good. You might wanna see it your door hinges are lined up.

i just checked. everything seems tobe lined up correctly it just seems like the window comes in to far to let the door close. anywyay to adjust it?

Sounds like the window is going up to far. You need to adjust the stops on the window. You need to remove the door panel and adjust the stops there are 2 with 12mm or 10mm nuts

You probably want to check the gaps around your door also. If they are not even, you should adjust your hinges first.

Hinges are fine the gap all the way around is even. ill check those stops and try not to break those clips it has to be that because everything else looks ok.

I have the same problem. I had to take the door panel off and re adjust the window k. The track 'cause it was way off.

I second the window stops. Sounds like the window is up too far and doesnt allow the door to shut. Take off the panel and see whats going on behind. And those plastic things are real easy to break. And junkyards around here dont have them at all. Ha.

I apologize for the gtammar, its the phone. My clips were no where to be found when I did mind, thankfully there's quite a few eclipses in the junk yards here and I picked them up. ( I guess texans don't appreciate dsms very much I've only seen 3 in my city )

I wish people around here didnt appreciate dsm so much! ive had my car for a month so far and already someone has tried to break into it twice. And i live in a nice neighborhood....maybe thats when the window got messed up because they were prying at the window and using a hanger to try and pop the door lock button.

I have the exact same problem but i noticed that the rubber on the corner of the window right above the side mirror is wore out/cracking so i just roll it up and bump the switch down just a hair its livable.

I'm assuming you have a 2g? Perhaps your weather stripping might cause an issue.
