the door sags it drops like 2 inches when you open it so you got to lift it up then close it for it to shut i was wondering if their is a clip or washer in the interior (under the panel) i can replace for it to stop ive put 3 differnt hinges on it already last set was new so whey is it sagging?

I know it doesnt sound like the best advice, but my door used to sag a little, until I got pissed one day, and pulled the door up as hard as I can. Fit like a glove.

This really made me lauph when i saw this... my car has been sitting for a few months and i ran into the same problem... i opened the door and it sagged about an inch or so and i had to roll down the window, lift up on the handle and then i was able to get it to latch... This worked out fine for a week or so until i almost lost my door because it poped open while driving... I went to a body shop by my house and they told me 2500 bucks to fix it! being the DSM do it yourselfer i fixed the problem myself. I JUST DID THIS LAST WEEK!

1st off check the hinges.. i opened my door all the way and had my friend lift up and down on the door. While he was doing this i saw that the bottom hinge was moving.

Next i went under the drivers side dashboard, removed the kick panel right under the fuse box and that leads right into the back of the lower door hinge. I saw that when he moved the door up and down the bottom bolts were moving. ( What it is is a bolt welded into the body which on my car rusted out and wasnt holding any weight anymore )

Knowing what the problem was, i decided to fix it. I made cardboard shims to support the door in a perfect place aligned with the door latch. ( i placed them on the door stills on the inside of the car body ) Once i was happy with the fitment i removed the 2 rusted out bolts.

I took a 3/8 drill bit and drilled out the rusted nuts. I then installed stainless 3/8 bolts into the body and used fender washers on the inside for support. ( fender washers can be bought at any car quest, all they are is very large diameter washers. ) i tightened it all up and put some lock tight on the nuts and the job was done.

Once the shims were removed i tested the door. It didnt sag at all, and the door closes and opens like new. I hope this has been some help you i turned a 2500 job into about 3 hours of work and 3 dollars worth of bolts, nuts, and washers. If you have any questions let me know ill try and explain myself better. Good luck.

^^^^

Ouch, just to do some minor welding, local shop ran me $75 bucks good as new. Check hinge's that's where the problem starts at, and it is common. Another note, dont let people rest on your open doors :thumb:

thanks i gotta try that and yea rolling down the window and picking it up caused my door handle to break LOL so now i just climb through the window

Is this the car that's on columbus craigslist for 5 G's? Better fix that door before you sell it for that much :thumb:

Hope you get it worked out.
