420A Door lock 96 Eclipse keeps falling in.

So, this may be answered somewhere else but, my exterior door lock keeps falling in, no matter how tight i get the clip..ive taken it to a shop 2 times for it falling in the lock is also hard to turn sometimes, not all the time..just sometimes. Ive tried to lubricate it and it fails..any advice on this would be AMAZING because i'm almost to the point of just getting a new door and key for it.

1 are you sitting the cylinder the correct way as well ad the clip. If plastic where the cylinder sits is broken or cracked is going fall off. Quick fix is take glue gun and put around cylinder and put on handle before it cools off. Hold it there for a while. Worked for me.
2 new handle and clip
3 if your cylinder getting stuck turning while not connect meaning put it in your hand,if gives you trouble time to replace since lubing is not helping you

nothing is cracked,its a brand new clip and handle from autozone and i stick the key in, try to turn to unlock but is does not move and it has almost bent my key. Should i just replace it? and how would i go about doing that?

Have you ever tried 2 part epoxy? Sets as hard as jb kwik weld but is made for plastics, dries clear and is sandable/paintable[DOUBLEPOST=1414456889][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry, i ment replacing it, trying to type this on my phone

+1 for worn cylinder. As long as the lock is in the track, and the clip is on both sides, it should be in there solid.

I had a similar problems when I bought my car but the key was tricky in both doors and the trunk. It would actually get stuck in the trunk. I only got one key with the car. I ended up calling a locksmith to come out and they told me they key I had was cut from the wrong blank. They made me a new set of keys and everything worked fine after that. Not sure if this is helpful to your situation but the keys they made for me have the code X176 on them and they work like butter compared to the old key.
