door handle issues

OK, I'm a little concerned. I was replacing my door handle when the actuator rod that connects to the handle to open the door broke. It broke at the eye where it attaches to the striker mechanism. I'm going to check Rock Auto for a part but I'm afraid I might have to buy an entire new mechanism. I did try a temporary fix with a coat hanger but it is to flimsy to open the door. Any Ideas?

Sounds like you need to take a trip to your local junkyard.. should be an easy find, most doors at a yard are already stipped somewhat.

Yeap, I am agree.

Just take the steal thing out of the yard, Brake the bracket if you have to, and you will be find.

You just need to do a little grinding to install it and that's it.
