Door Cap 2ga/2gb

Hi everyone, long time reader, fairly new poster. I trid searching for the answer, but I can't seem to find the answer. This past week my driverside door cap flew off at the car wash at the blowing off stage (no pun intended). I discover that there were only a few clips holding it on and no screws securing it through the bottom of the door. A couple of the clip holders were broke also.

So this leads me into a search for a new cap so I can stop rolling around in something that looks like a hoopdee now. My question is, are the door caps the same on 95-96 eclipses as 97-99? Because there is a junkyard fairly close with a red 95 eclipse door, and I have a 97.

From what I can tell from pictures they LOOK the same, but I just want to double check. Thank you to anyone who replies!

I think they are different. Why don't you take a picture of your passenger side one and compare them?

When you put the junkyard one on use some caulk or glue of some sort but just a very thin bead around the edge. The door ground effect piece sucks. Mine was starting to wag in the wind and I tryed to pull it loose and it just cracked in half.

Ya I heard these trim pieces were pretty notorious for breaking off. I guess I could take a picture, but Wings West sells a replacement one and it's for

They are not the exact same. The 95-96 door caps have the Chrysler emblem on them. They do fit exactly the same with the clips.

The door caps have no emblem on them, I think you're confusing that for the 2ga Talon fender caps? As far as the door caps, I am unaware of whether or not the 2ga Eclipse caps fit on the 2gb skirts. They will bolt on no problem, but I'm not sure they are the same part, meaning passenger and driver side might mismatch. If the junkyard has both door caps maybe you can just pick up both?

they are not the same. the bottom of a 2ga door cap sticks out farther from the door than the 2gb. it will look stupid of you mismatch them

Yeah theyre pretty different if you have them side by side. Keep looking through the junkyards and youll find one. If not, mitsubishiparts.com has them for 68 per side.
