ok i have an original 6 bolt turbo motor rebuilt but needs valves done and i have a running 1g 7bolt with a 1g g6 head and i dont know what would be the best bet on going about it cause i want my 6bolt block for sure but dont know if i should fix the head with valves or put the g6 head on it i want the best on it that i can get durability and power out of it any help would be wonderful guys. also dont know if it makes a difference but the above the T-stat housing it has G6 and under it is the number 1 if that signifies anything

I'd do the valves.

That way, the whole motor is rebuilt and not being "band-aid" together with a strong and tight bottom end and adding a used head that we really don't know how strong it is.

And putting this head on a strong bottom end could cause some issues down the road.

yeah kinda what i was thinking i just didnt know if the g6 heads are stronger than the 1g 6bolt turbo heads cause i would rather use whats stronger and the g6 head is running good right now on my car

There really isn't a "stronger" head. Any 1G DOHC head is going to be about the same. Run whatever is easiest for you.

ok so then what is with the g6 head then cause i really dont understand that and dealing with bolt hole size difference between a 1g bolt and a 1g 7bolt is there any difference in them

Don't worry about the G6. It's a casting number. All it tells us is it is a 1G style head as far as intake ports go.

Bolt hole size difference as in head bolt hole size? There shouldn't be any. I put a G6 head on a 6-bolt block without doing a thing to it. It's been running in my 2G for six years. If it concerns you, have the other head fixed up and then there is no doubt whatsoever.

1g 7 bolt head has smaller "head bolt" holes than a 6 bolt head. So you'd starve the head of oil if you just plopped a 7 bolt head on a 6 bolt block, as the head bolts are 1mm larger in diameter, and the oil for the head is fed up from the block past one of the head bolts.

So a 7 bolt head needs the head bolt holes bored out 1mm.

big help u all thanx best bet then is to just do a valve job to the original 6 bolt head

No, the comment I made of a 'stronger' head was due to how new the parts are in each section of the motor.

Like you wouldn't take a fresh rebuilt block and put on a head that has over 100K miles on it, for you know that the rebuilt block with its tight compression and similar, will easily pull oil down past those tired guides and seals...and vice versa.

alright thanx for all the help im just going to get the old head redone so i have one strong motor only this time i will make sure its perfectly in time so i dont bend the valves this time haha
