Don't know how to setup ECMlink on win7

So apparently I'm not as technology inclined as I thought I was. Today I tried to get download and set the driver for ECMlink and I had no idea what to do. When I plugged in my cable I didn't have a chance to select where I wanted to install it to. In short I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, it is windows 7. Can somebody help me get this thing setup?

Just follow the on screen instructions and install the software. The Laptop should install the drivers for the cable automatically if connected to the Internet and after that just open the software, make sure cable is connected to a USB port and hit "CONNECT"

I don't have a disc, I need to download everything off their site.

Download and install this first:
http://www.ecmtuning.com/downloads/install/setup_3_21_40_full.exe

Then download and install this:
http://www.ecmtuning.com/downloads/prerelease/setup_3_22_172_update.exe

Then plug the cable into the OBDII port and finally into a USB port on your laptop. Turn the key to ON, but don't start the car. See if the laptop recognizes the cable (green light on cable should flash shortly after you plug it in) and starts installing the drivers. If not, download and install this:
http://www.ecmtuning.com/downloads/drivers/CDM 2.04.06.exe

Fire up ECMlink software and click the Connect button.

Ended up downloading all three links that Brian suggested to download, opened the link program click connect and get a message that says "Scan failed to find working connection."
Anybody have any ideas?
