Hey guys I just bought the car and I've been taking logs and trying to tune the car. I just now noticed looking at this log that I didn't hit full boost until 5.2K! :banghead:

What can I do to help this? I'll attach a log with a lot of info just hit CTR+Q to shut it all off and then select rpm and boost if you want to see what I'm looking at and then you can add in whatever else you want to look at out of curiousity. Also, I had it set at only about 12psi. I know thats low for a 20g but she's not tuned right yet so it's still set very low. I'll turn it up some but I want to figure out my lag problem.

Easiest thing to check first off before I even look at the log is to check to see if you have any pre-turbine exhaust leaks. Any cracks in your exhaust manifold? How is your exhaust-to-turbo gasket? Your turbo bolts torqued down correctly/enough? I'll look at your log now.

Mine did the same thing when i had a lot of shaft play and the compressor wheel was ate up...

Do a boost leak test, that could definately be a reason why your spool is so late. Check for lots of shaft play too.

I haven't been able to do a boost leak yet, I'm going to try and fabricate something this weekend when I have more time. I'll check the shaft play when I have the intake off for the boost leak test.

What would be a good way to check for header leaks? It's a fresh build the guy just put the car together before he sold it so the gaskets (should) be new and good. I suppose there is a chance the bolts could need a little tightening I could try to check that with the long list of stuff I want to get done this weekend LOL.

See anything interesting on that log? Anything worth noting?

I was thinking that could be a possible cause for a couple of my problems. Would that slow my lag rate by a full 1k rpm? I would think something that killed it that bad would be noticeable I mean I don't hear any hissing.

I'm still working on adjusting the idle I'm having issues in relation between my AFRatioEST and my AEM wideband not syncing up right. My wideband shows that the car is max lean at idle but my AFRatioEST is almost right where it needs to be. When I try to adjust deadtime my wideband starts to rich out but then my AFRatioEST will go super rich and when I get the wideband into the 15's A/F the car doesn't sound right so I think it's getting too much fuel at that point. I just started datalogging so I'm very new to ecmlink and tuning in general so I'll gladly accept any advice I can get.

Definitely do a boost leak check. You can find a how to by searching. You need to make sure there are no leaks before you even start messing with idle/tune or you're going to make it worse

*edit. Once you fix the boost leaks check out jeffgst.com. It will help with where your global should be. It's an excellent resource

I'll quit playing with it until I do the leak check. I'll post what I find in a few days. Thanks for the advice!
