I've had this GS for 3 or 4 years now, and honestly I'm tired of it trying to kill me. It was a wreck that repair when I bought it and originally I planned to do nothing to it and unload it when i found something "better", but I fell in love with the potential of the platform and have subsequently picked up 2 more, a hard top and an RS upgraded to a GS. I've had other project vehicles and my primary focus was on making this a reliable DD. After the 1st few attempts on my life I got sick of it and got the hardtop which was an outstanding DD, but I missed having a sunroof so much that I rebuilt the deathtrap (or as my sister calls it Christine 2).
5 sets of wheels, 2 different headers, 2 different catbacks, 3different shock/sprink combos, 5 axle replacements, 3 lca replacements, a complete swap of all the knuckles(right rear twice) and a partridge in a pear tree, I'm transplanting everything onto the upconverted RS as a daily until I finish sourcing everything for my 2.4 build(had the block but sold it to partially fund the SC) and get my SC roadworthy. The Hard Top is presently stripped down to a shell awaiting my welding skills to progress so that it can become something worthy of the Eclipse name
(it was bone stock save for a catback, shiny wheels and a system).
I should have known better than to buy a wreck repaired vehicle in the 1st place(passenger side impact damaging the rear 1/4 into the door frame, door, front quarter and bumper - oddly it was not salvage titled), but it has served me well and has been a (mostly) wonderful experience as I can now change out the lcas on both sides in under an hour with just hand tools, swap out a entire knuckle in no time and do a complete engine swap from from pull to driveable in one long day(from the top with the tranny attached - I haven't tried from beneath yet).
I just about have it totally stripped, so does anyone have any idea what I can do with the shell? I don't feel comfortable unloading it on some unsuspecting person, and it's taking up much, much needed driveway space(since the city is a stickler about vehicles touching any part of your grass for any length of time, even right beside your driveway which is hidden from the public street anyway - sorry, that still gets under my skin.
) So, any ideas? I'm new to disposing of a car & the local salvage yards won't pick it up & it would actually cost me money to tow it to them.
