I have a question on what exactly to do to my cylinder head....on measurements?....i know that i want it to be a stage 1 head.....i mean? I have done all the possible maintenance and have keep it top notch...everything i have on the engine is stock, and have 175,xxx....i really just wanted to pass the I/H/E process and get on with it....opinions and info on what to do....?

if your engine is stock the cylinder head is not the first thing you should worry about putting money into. if your set on upgrading your head first port and polish, new valve angles, but then you would still want to upgrade your valves and springs and cams for a complete head setup. personally if your working on a budget i would go with intake, headers and exhaust. if you have money to spend build your internals

Well if you just want to get head work done while the head is off you should: Resurfaced, Bigger valves/seats or regrind stock valve/seats, valve springs, cams, and PNP.

Although I would recommend full intake/exhaust before doing in depth head work but, it's your car and money LOL.

Depending on how drastic you want to go, weight reduction is always a factor. I dropped over 1000lbs off my zx2, but keep in mind my interior consists of two unadjustable racing seats and sheet metal LOL..

You need to decide if you wanna turbo it or not. Because that will effect witch parts your going to want ie cams compression ratio. I would do turbo it and throw some exhaust on it but with 175xxx your rings are gonna hate life.

Na....i don't want to turbo it....just n/a and if possible stay with a turbo....and ya the miles are in kinda mileage range...i will do internals as well...! but kinda want some input on what is too much and what is too little?

Im assuming you mean no turbo go high compression and improve air flow. Cost per horsepower gained is going to be high.

That's fine i guess...even if it means going deeper into my pocket.....and ya, sorry i mean i don't want a turbo, but would like to keep up with one as close as possible...

Unfortunatly thats not going to happen LOL. The only way possible you could even keep up/compare to a stock GST/GSX would be if you did $6000+ of performance mods and striped out your interior, but for all that money and effort wouldn't you rather jus go out and have your own turbo'ed DSM?

Just my 2 cents ;)
