Does the length of the feed line to an AFPR matter?

Calgary,
I got my Aeromotive AFPR and I'm ready to install it. I've seen people come right off of their fuel rail, but I've also seen over a foot of line going to an AFPR mounted to the firewall. Is a long line going to affect the performance of an AFPR or is this a negligible point?

the car still uses the same fuel pressure so it will pressurize that 1 foot of stainless line right away

The time it takes to initially pressurize the system may be slightly longer with a longer run to the FPR, but if using a higher flow pump, you'd be hard pressed to tell. Otherwise, during normal operation, zero difference :dsm:

Like DSM90AWD said, a longer line may take a bit longer to pressurize which you may notice at startup, no big deal.

I've read that the longer the line the more friction causing less fuel flow but I'm sure its insignificant. More bends in the line have the same effect.

NHRA has some rules about the length of flexible fuel line. At certain ET's you can only have 12" of flexible line and the faster you get, the shorter the line on down to I think 6". Steel Braided lines and some specialty approved lines like some made from Aeroquip are exempt. This rule is for fire safety in the event of a crash.
