1G Does my car need this MAF translator gen 2?

Ok so my car still isn't running. Does anyone have any experience with a maf translator gen 2? Can I remove it ? Also is there anyone around the Charleston or Columbia South Carolina area that I can hire to come get it running again? Or knows of anyone or a directory of proficient dsm mechanics?

Exactly, I'm not being a smart a$$ but trying to figure out how and on what level to help.
It seems like pointing you to the DSM Tech Manuals might provide a starting baseline on how the cars work and how things go together.

I'm afraid I won't be here when the Vulcans arrive so a mind meld is out of the question.
