Does different seasons change your exhaust tone?

My exhaust just seems to be deeper in the summer time than this winter bullshit.

Mine gets deeper and rattles in late fall, when the squirrels are stashing nuts in there.

Reminds me of my old IROC, during the winter a family of mice went in there. Started that bi*** in the spring and out shot 4 deaf mice.

Here the temperature changes by 20-30 degrees everyfew days right now and it's driving me crazy. When it's cold the entire car rattles, it bogs in first and second gear and the ride is a lot harsher. Then it warms up and all that's gone. Steering doesn't whine on startup and less lifter tick but I've never payed too much attention to the exhaust tone.

I would guess, yes because I am guessing, that you car may have more timming when it is cold. The air is going to be more dense and the MAF should see that is is getting more air. Now let me explain my guess. Alot of poeple in cold climates will drive around in the summer with out fuel cut, then when winter hits so does fuel cut. Air is a bit more dense so more is getting in. The other reason is that when a car knocks and retards timming it changes the tone of the exhaust. If he had a logger we could prove me wrong or right so hopefully he has one. I would like to knwo if I pulled that out of my ass or if I am right.

Temperature (pressure and humidity too) effect sound. It changes the medium (air) which sound travels through, thus it sounds different.
