Giving your car a better tone

I have a 2G N/A DSM, and I was wondering if you guys had any advice on how to kill the ricy sound it makes.

I have

GReddy header
GReddy Evo 2 Exhaust
and a test pipe


i noticed the test pipe had like resonators in it, maybe that's it?

but what else could I do to make it sound smooth and lower and not like a Honda

actually if I am not mistaken a resonator actually helps kill the ricy sound. The resonator allows a deep rumble tone, taking out the resonator makes it sound like a vtec ricer. Maybe a silencer or instead of a test pipe an actual hi flow cat?

Well if you were to have a regular catalytic converter on your car that would help muffle the sound some more. The test pipe is just hollow therefore it doesn't really absorb any of the sound.

I personally love the sound of open exhaust Although you live in Cali and it'd be a big no no

A silencer in your muffler would kill the "vtec ricer" sound. Otherwise, run a cat.

Just get a regular catalytic converter...Again, you are in California which I hear is crazy strict on emissions. With a test pipe, you will not pass, you won't even pass here with those. I don't know if you can get away with having a high flow cat or not though. If you can, get one

high flow cat is okay in california, test pipe not so much unless you could control the extra emmisions from a free flowing exhaust. If you like the test pipe get a silencer or put on extra resonators, other then that I do not see any other solutions.
