Does design of tubular header beat on one cylinder more than an other?

Just wondering if the routing of pipes/length mattered. For example, a lot of 2gen n/a rx7s blow rear rotors after the addition of a header, and for the specific brand it was due to something along the lines of the eay the header was built. Just wondering what to look for, if its better to get a certain kind of cluster####.

Rotor as in brake rotor? I'm confused.

Most tubular headers/exhaust manifolds are made to be equal length, evenly distributing exhaust pulses from the cylinders to create better flowing characteristics. This can help spool a turbo faster or just reduce backpressure. I can't see how any cylinders can be "beat on" or rotors being "blown."

So I don't know too much about rx7 issues, but for the 1g/2g 4G63 motors, the runners should be equal length. Also, cylinders 1+4 and 2+3 are out of phase, so you want two things here: don't let 1+4 or 2+3 blow up each other's arses and separate 1+4 from 2+3 as much as possible so that they don't step on each others' toes. If you look at the collector on the 1g/2g manis, you can see that they redirect flow so that 1+4 or 2+3 don't putt against each other too badly, but there's a huge divider that separates 1+4 flow from 2+3 flow.

That's all I know about that.

I saved an old rx7 rotor/cylinder from the dumpster in college (professor said, "throw this stuff away," so I took that to mean, "make this stuff go away"). I cleaned it up nice (wire wheel and what-not), and had it on my desk as an overkill but cool paperweight. Then someone snagged it.:notgood:

Rx7's are rotary engines. He ment a rotor in the engine i think. Thats really wierd i never thought that would happen from just a header.

Thanks guys, yeah, I meant in my old rx7s I had the rear rotor would blow out first, and it was always on the type of header, because the rear rotors pipe was longer/shorter, I cant remember because its been a number of years. I guess I just wont buy a cheap tublular header.
