Do you need to bore block for .020 over pistons?

Im guessing that you need to bore out the block to put in .020 over-bore pistons, but if you dont need to please post because I have no idea. Another question out of curiousity I see that there are 2.4L motors, are they bored out or is that the block from the 4G64? And if i need to bore out the block to put in .020 over pistons what what the displacement then be?

Yes, you need to bore out a block to fit 0.020 pistons...otherwise they are too big. A 2.4L is usually a 4g64 block, but some 2.3 stroked 4g63's are bored out quite a bit to come pretty close to 2.4L.

well considering 4g63's technically have a displacement of 1.996L, a .020" over bore isn't gonna bring it up much over 2.0L
