hi everybody,

i want to install the custom fuel system that included :
Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump ( 600 lb )
Aeromotive A1000 Regulator
Aeromotive 100 Micron Filter
Custom Fuel rail with 2 feed and 1 return on center
Surger tank before the A1000 fuel pump
All the fittings and braided line on -10 AN size
PTE 880cc injectors

now this kit is ready to use , i built the surger tank that hook straight to fuel pump then after A1000 fuel pump i used the 100 micron aeromotive fuel filter then the Y fittings to feed custom fuel rail ( has 2 feed on the sides of rail and 1 return on center ) , then regulator hose hook on center of rail .

just i have 1 question about the intank fuel pump , the intank fuel pump feeds the surgertank before the aeromotive a1000 , Can i use the walbro 255 high pressure for it or i need the low pressure fuel pump ?
i mean can i use 2 high pressure fuel pumps on this EFI fuel system ?
there is some pics from my fuel system , please let me know what can i do for intank fuel pump ?

thanks.

resize your pictures... looks like a rail road map of Russia, can't help you without being able to see the entire set up without scrolling around just to try and match things up....

why are you even using a surge tank? I'm just curious? It's not even needed for your setup...

i used the surge tank because Aeromotive company recommended it , they said "if you are using a stock fuel tank , install a reservoir style sump ( surge ) in the bottom-rear of your fuel tank . then they said again " if you choose not to install a reservoir style sump ( surge ) , then you must install a high flow capacity fuel tank pickup .
plus the advised " installing a high flow pickup instead of reservoir style sump ( surge ) may shorten the fuel pump life and cause driveability problems , when using a pickup , you should maintain at least 1/2 tank of fuel in the vehicle at all times, to avoide possible engine &/or fuel pump damage .

i just want to know can i use the high pressure fuel pump intank or i need low pressure for intank .

I'm curious about this system. Will the entire setup be placed underhood? What will this be used primarily for?

It does seem a bit overkill for 880's, but it would operate extremely efficiently. The pressure for the in-tank pump does not need to be high pressure as long as it can flow enough. The pressure for the actual delivery for that configuration will be supplied by inline pump with the other providing fuel to that reservoir/surgetank.

Why are there two inlets to the reservoir? Will the rear pump be activated at all times and one will be a return line? If you choose to use an hp pump, it will likely never actually reach the desired pressure balance.

do you think can i use the walbro 255 intank ? my friend told me that i should use the Aeromotive fuel pump controller for this system .

Are you talking the 16302? Considering the double control you'll need to get the two pumps to work in unison, it might not be a bad idea. I'm guessing the rear pump will be on about 25% more of the time to keep the reservoir tank primed and at full. I'm not sure how adjustable of the control system is or if it will even accommodate your needs.

The system you are planning on implementing will likely need the intank pump activated by a buoy system. That way, the pump will kick on based on levels inside the reservoir independent of engine cycles and estimated fuel consumption. Tell me again why you didn't just modify the tank for a sump style pick-up; I think it would only need a slight indentation and the possible logistics with the reservoir setup could be huge.

yes right the 16302 , the controller lets the intank fuel pump works on low rpms and idle , then the A1000 go out of system on low rpms , and on high rpms the intank fuel pump go out of system then a1000 works .

i think its the best idea .
what do you think ?

First off, are you intending on road racing, street driving, or drag racing this vehicle? Second, are you intending on going with a MUCH larger turbo, or sticking with the setup that you have?

If you are staying with the FP 3065, then the smartest and CHEAPEST route is to use a set of 1000cc fuel injectors with a Walboro 255HP fuel pump in-tank, with -6AN fuel feed line with an in-line -6AN fuel filter to a single inlet -6AN fitting to the fuel rail, and a -6AN fitting outlet to the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a -6AN return line to the tank. That is more than enough for the FP3065 turbo setup you currently have.

Surge tanks are primarilly used in roadracing/drift cars due to the extreme lateral g's that they see regularly, along with methanol cars.

As well, an easy upgrade from the aformentioned reccomendation would be to use an in-line Walboro 255HP fuel pump before the fuel filter with -6AN fittings. This will support 900+HP on 1000cc injectors, and well over 1000HP on 1600cc injectors.

If this is a drag/street car, you are better off with an in-tank pump and an in-line pump versus the over-engineered setup you are producing. I am not saying it will not work, it is just a bit too much for your car's modifications. 880cc injectors will handle over 550-600whp.

To wire the dual pump setup, you will need a 40A 5-prong relay with 2-signal wires, and use an 8ga power wire with inline fuse from the battery to the relay, then use 10ga power wire from the relay to each pump. Be sure to use a good ground; 8ga wire would be plenty.

The entire setup should be able to be produced for less than $600 (2 pumps, line, fittings, filter, and injector upgrade).

As I see from your pictures, you already have all your toys. Yes, it will work with just the A1000, surge tank, lines, filter, rail with dual feeds to a single return. It might be worth while to put a fuel filter before the surge tank also -- just another prevention from having the outlet on the surge tank get a clog, since it is welded together, leaving no easy way to remove debris if it ever happened.

It is just an expensive overkill. Enjoy the noise of the A1000. It isn't quiet, but it is no where near as loud as some of the other "lawnmower" pumps.
