2G Do the 3rd gen seats fit a 2nd gen?

They won't be a direct bolt-in, but they might fit with a bit of modification.

I'm currently rocking some black leather seats out of a 2005 Toyota Celica. It was surprisingly simple to get these to bolt into my 2G.

3g seats wont just drop in... but ^ them celica's dont look to bad at all... by "surprisingly simple to get them in" what did it take? did all 4 bolt holes line up!? or only 3? and how much did you get em for?

I had 3g leather seats in my 2g n/t it was pretty simple to do if you can drill holes with a drill and use a wrench/ratchet. All you need is 4. 1/4in pieces of flat steel from home depot or Lowes, a 1/2in drill bit, drill, tape measure, and 8 1in bolts and nuts. 1.After measuring and marking where your existing mounts will line up on the flat steel drill them holes out. 2.Then mark where your 3g seats track mounts are also on that same flat steel and drill them holes out. 3. Make sure you flip the new bolts upside down that the head is on the bottom, and tighten them up. 4. Now you should be able to bolt your new modded 3g leather seats in your 2g. Sorry there's no pictures of install. but I do have pics of them in the car I will post.

The Celica seats had brackets that were riveted and spot welded onto the sliders are each corner. All I did was remove those brackets, and then I welded a 2G Eclipse Tenzo R seat bracket to the sliders of the Celica seats. I just had to line everything up perfectly to make sure the seat was properly positioned. But, they sit low like the factory seats and they bolt in using the exiting studs in the floor, so I'm pretty happy with them. Removing the factory Celica brackets was the worst part, but it was more time consuming than difficult.

I bought mine off of eBay. I won the auction for $150 and paid like $120 for shipping. Well worth it for leather seats, IMO. My rear seat is the factory DSM black leather rear. It coincides well with these Celica seats.

damn if they move while on boost imagine what would happen during an accidentOMG. Im not sure if i want them anymore LOL
If they are fixed well to the vehicle that they installed in, then they won't move at all. It's a safe seat when installed properly.

Hey everyone just wanted to post a quick response to dropping 3G seats in 2G. They actually fit with very minor modifications. I just put a pair in my Talon today and will add a few pictures tomorrow. All you need to do is remove the curved bracket from the old seats and bolt it on to the 3G seats. On 2G seats there are 4 brackets riveted onto the sliders of the seats. 3 of them are straight and 1 is curved. You will need 2 of these per 3G seat. Just drill out rivets and remove the bracket. Then you will need to drill out rivets and remove both brackets on 3G seats on side closest to door. The front bracket will line up perfect with existing rivet holes. The rear bracket will overlap slightly so needs to be welded and braced. The side closest to the center console will line up perfectly and bolt right in. Not as nice as the celica seats but still very nice. I believe SRT4 seats can use same method as rails are about same size. The whole process took about 2 hrs. I had to remove the bottom cushion of the drivers seat due to the usual broken electronics issue so probably an hour if yours still moves.
