1st Gen into a 2nd Gen?

Okay..

I just baught a 1990 Laser n/t for 100 bucks. Front end was messed up pretty bad. So a friend and I have the bright idea of turnging the front end from a 90 to a 93. We got ourselves into mroe than what we thought. Has anyone ever done this? I need some advice on things because things are not looking so swell from here. Any info would be appreciated!

I have no idea, I'm new with cars. It is a 90 non turbo, and I did not like the flip up lights so we went to a salvage ayrd and got a 93 hood, fenders, and front bumper,headlights ect. So the hood covers the whole front end and there are no flip up lights. We cut out where the lights would originally be and trie to fit the new ones in them and it's a hard fit. Fenders and doors have a pretty nice gap in between them. So I'm goign from a 90 front end, to a 93.. want me to post pics?


*Edit* we took the fenders, hood, and lights, also the bumper off a 93 eclipse.

Dude theres nothing wrong with the original front end. Infact Ive talked to alot of women about that and they all seem to like the pop up lights more than the non pop ups. Besides your gonna have more problems than you think with that type of conversion. Ever hear the one that goes "if it aint broke dont fix it" ? If you were to leave the pop ups there is a way to turn on the lights with out poping up. Its called the chicklet mod. Search it in here and you might come up with some new ideas that are a bit easier than what you are trying to accomplish. But hey while your at it why not try a twin turbo? Or even better yet, a 3g v-6 twin turbo! ha ha!

i've seen people with 1gb do 1ga conversions so it's possible. i was thinking about do the reverse when i got my 2nd DSM since i had everything i needed on my old car.

It's possible. I have a 91 with the 92 front end. Tons of people have done it.
