Do i need to upgrade injectors?

My factory Fuel Pump started to make noise and eventually woulda gone up, so i replaced it with a walbro 255.... doing this ALONE wont really change anything will it? I bought it with intentions later down the road incase i upgrade my whole fuel system and turbo....

Will my car run fine with just this pump? or must i need the larger injectors with it?

You can't (or more appropriately, shouldn't) just throw on larger flowing injectors without some sort of engine management system, whether it's an SAFC or DSM Link. You need to "trick" the ECU into thinking the upgraded injectors are actually the OEM injectors. If you just throw on larger injectors, you'll have inappropriate air-fuel ratios all the way to grandma's house.

This has been discussed before. Will your car run "fine"? It depends on what you would consider "fine". The OEM FPR will definately be overrun with the larger pump. I suggest you save up and fork out some cash for an adjustable FPR and then go from there.

So, in closing, the injectors should be the least of your worries; getting a reliable and trustworthy AFPR is. You can purcahse a very nice kit right here. Hope that helps.
 
It has been discussed on here over & over again, a 255 is to larger for the stock FPR & if you want to install one you need a proper aftermarket adjustable FPR (fuel pressure regulator) such as the Aeromotive, as the stocker will be overrun & usually even without a pump rewire (pump rewire only makes the situation worse). No you don't need larger injectors to run a larger pump but like Anthony said, you would need something to control larger injectors if you wanted to install them. If you don't want to spend the extra money on an aftermarket FPR, swap that 255 for the 190 version. These are good for around 400 whp & can be run on the stock FPR
 
EVO 8 pumps work too, they're rated around 190lph and can be found for pretty cheap. You're gonna be running pig rich with that pump and no control. If you plan on keeping that 255 pump and upgrading in the near future you'll need these parts, along with your new turbo and other supporting mods. It kind of depends on how much money you're looking to spend in the near future, and what you're goals are with your car:

1. AFPR Kit
2. Fuel controller (SAFC or DSMLINK+EPROM ECU)
3. Injectors
4. Datalogger and (optional)wideband o2
 
wow, previously i had someone tell me that since im not tuning anything that the fuel would just be dumped and returned like the factory pump.

I dont plan on doing the rest of the fuel system and turbo upgrade at this time... do you recommend me swapping back out for a factory fuel pump??

Well he was half right, we run a return system so the pump is constantly pumping & the job of the stock FPR is to keep the fuel pressure at a constant rate (which does change in reference to boost/vacuum but we'll leave that out). All the fuel that doesn't get injected to the motor via the injectors is returned back to the tank via the FPR & return line. Now the problem is once you get to a pump that flows too much the stock FPR is no longer able to bypass/return enough fuel to keep the fuel pressure at the desired level. The 255 pump happens to be large enough that it will over run the stock FPR & you will have an un tunable rich condition at idle & part throttle/cruise conditions. If you want to run a pump of that size you either need a true aftermarket FPR or go with a slightly smaller pump, that won't cause the over run condition such as the Walbro 190.

If I were in your shoes, and finances weren't a big factor, I would keep the Walbro 255 pump that is already installed and invest in an adjustable FPR - this would be a great first step in upgrading your fuel system. Also, you will probably never have to upgrade your fuel pump again.
 
One option is to take out the 255 pump and save it for when you do upgrade.

If you did that, you could go back with the stocker, just re-wire it. You could also get an EVO 8 190lph pump for cheap and run that without an AFPR.

Or you could sell, the 255 and buy a Walboro 190.

It all depends on what you want to achieve.....if you're going to stick with the T-25 for awhile, I would say go back to the stock pump and rewire it.
