Dejon, ebay and the classified is where you can get piping. Ebay or punishment has the cheapest sets. If you want GOOD and CHEAP couplers go to napa and get some diesal radiator hose.

Yeah, you really have to walk in there like you own the place and start fiddling with radiator hoses. The straight stuff they sell by the foot is nice, but expensive and only comes in straight sections.

You can also take a trip to the junkyard and find intake piping. The ford stuff that looks like it has bands around it has worked really well for me. The thick rubber stuff that you find on some fords and pretty much every other car has always cracked on me. It could have been that it was just so old, it could have also been that it was not meant for boost. My friend runs it and he sees 17psi pretty regularly without an intercooler (not on a DSM though). I've also found all radiator hose will stand up to whatever I've been able to throw at it.

I assembled a pretty much a complete 3" intercooler piping kit for $5 at the junkyard. Just gotta keep your eyes open : D

Also, all this time and effort put into the SMIC, not worth it when you can have a FMIC. I'd be inclined to unhook the wastegate and duct tape whatever you've got now until you can rig up a front mount, but that's just me.

Not to join in the argument, but PVC can work
Twin Turbo How-To
I don't advise it though.

ummmm did you see how distorted that pipe got at 14.5 psi??? I have the talon @ 16.5 LOL....

I have to ask Spiral because I have really thought about it, what is a Ass Hat.

I believe this is not the version he was referring to. The correct one is unappropriate for this forum.

I agree too that not everyone can afford to get high dollar parts. However the fact is many people have used home depot for parts. The parts used probably don't last as long as vendor sold parts but they do work. If they didn't then people wouldn't be suggesting to go to home depot for custom stuff in the first place and there are a lot of things with ingenuity that you could make to work on a vehicle that won't cost an arm & leg.

projects thats a nice install defently something to think about later on down the road
