ok so i have eagle h-beams and wiseco 20 over pistons I'm doing a balance delete, main and head studs with a tri layer head gasket and a few other things not engine wise. I'm wondering if i will need 272's.

You dont "need" cams at all. Of course cams can optimise any setup to its full horsepower potential. Im running my Hx-35 on SS t3 manifold with cp 9:1 and Eagle H beams on stock head and its pulling great had to bring the timing down a bit for the 9:1. Of course some 272's or some Fp2's would add horsepower but are just another part for the list.
Make sure you have every other base covered before you invest in cams. Things like fuel pump, regulator and wiring, better injectors, ecmlink are far more important investments in my opinion.

you dont need cams just because you have a race block...if your still running a 16g or something small 264's would be a nice set-up..but stock head/cams, have/can go a long way.

ok. i am just trying to do everything right the first time so i dont have to go back and redo anything. i was told that cams were something that i needed after the mods im doing. id like to get crower 272's without not needing any aftermarket retainers springs etc...

Whoever told you that you NEED cams..doesnt know what they are talking about. Cams would help but also depending on turbo can hurt power bands. Remember a bigger set of cams is going to slow your spool most of the time but increase your mid-range to top end power.

Sounds like you have a decent start...good luck!

2nd the above.. and it is advisable to upgrade to stiffer valve spring whenever you upgrade your cams, might not be a necessity but better spend a few dollars then rebuilding the whole head..
