What are your ultimate horsepower goals for this engine? If you are going to stay under 600hp and 8500rpm then I would say yourself some money and go with the eagle aftermarket rods. If your aspirations are alittle higher then the manely rods will handle all you can throw at them. You might also consider Crowler rods as another good choice over the Eagles. All for pistons.....8.5:1 is a good compression ratio to start with. Any good piston company should be ok. My personal preferrence is ROSS as I had a bad dealing with JE once on a honda motor. JE is by all means a good company but that is just my opinion. I wouldn't stress out about it too much. Just make sure you order everything to work together and put it together with extreme attention to detail.

I went with Ross myself. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I only hear good things. Way back in the day JE had problems in the 4g63 with bad piston slap. I'm sure thats been corrected by now but it scared me enough to stay away. Typically the lower the piston compression ratio, the more boost you can run. 8.5:1 is a good start.

I personally have the wiseco pistons and crower rods in my 2.4, and I had wiseco's in my last dsm too, along w/ eagle rods. You can't go wrong w/ most companies, but most guys don't use JE, even though they make good stuff. I would say, Arias, Pauter, Crower, Eagle, Wiseco, Manley, Ross...you can't go wrong w/ any of them...good luck and let us know what you finally pick for a setup? Happy searching...:thumb:

eagle, rods, wiseco pistons seem to be very popular with DSM's and are of good quailty without breaking the pocket book.

hey guys thanks for replying!!!
my hp goals are as high as i can make them and be able to be streetable...
but 600 is my initial goal but iam gonna start low so i can do things slowly.so what you guys are saing is get ross pistons and the manley rods? does anyone know what ross pistons to order? all the ross pistons i have found dont tell me the comp ratio and i would like to start with 8.5:1 but yeah thanks in advance....

when you order the pistons they will ask you what compression you want and will send you that,
things that will affect compression that they will take into acount is the bore .020 over,
.030 over etc. head type, (if it is stock the dealer should know the cc's) and stroke of the crank again if stock the dealer has this info.
but most all common compression ratio's will cost the same.
