i heard that forged internals require more maintenance that oem internals. is this true? if so what more will i have to expect to do?

What exactly do you have to do to maintain internals? Change the oil, and don't rev the thing sky high? Yeah, I see forged internals requiring more frequent oil changes and less revving.

:p

Unless you consider letting your car warm up before you drive it maintenance. Only because you have piston slap on a cold motor because you installed JE's  I wouldn't call that maintenance though, I'd call it a poor piston choice. Get some Ross's or Wisecos and you'll be :D

What is up with all of this BS information?? Has any one looked at a ross or wiesco piston comared to stock WTF guys? It all comes down to double checking your bearing clearances, piston to wall clearances and ring gaps.
Use a good synthetic oil and filter

BS info from who? JE's have a more tendancy to slap when cold, plain and simple. And that is something I wouldn't want on a daily driven car. I wanna just get in and take off, and I sure wouldn't be comfortable driving away with that going on inside my engine. The JE's usually have a bigger piston to wall gap because they expand when heated more then the others. So when it's cold and not expanded yet, you have a chance of them slapping. On the other hand you have other brands (wiseco, ross) who's pistons don't expand so much due to a higher silicon content in the aluminum. So piston slap isn't a concern anymore. You can run tighter clearances because you don't need to worry about it expanding as much when it gets warm. So I'd stay away from JE's and go with Ross or Wiseco's and make sure to break in the motor correctly. You'll have no more maintenance then you already did.

i do plan on going with Wisecos. just wanted to know what i would be getting into if i got forgedpistons. it didnt sound right but i figured better safe than sorry. thanks for the help
