I just installed a maf and translator into my talon and i do not have a datalogger. is it possible to still use these products w/o one and if so what should i set the knobs to?

Also, where is my cam angle sensor so that i can tap into it?

Yes you could use it but how are you going to check timing and knock while making adjustments? You won't know where you need to add fuel or take it away. You need something to tell you what's going on when your ready to make adjustments

Technically, you should be able to set all the knobs to zero(besides the base knob settings for your injectors) and it should be the same as stock. But if you're gonna spend the 300+ dollars on the MAFT, why not spend 60-80 for a logger?

Stock injectors on a manual trans are 450. I bought my logger off of ebay.

stock injectors is 450cc. I got a used palm125 from ebay for 45 shipped and a cable for 25 shipped and the software is free. You can also try pocketlogger.com or the classifieds good luck :D

thanks for the help guys i really do appreciate it. i just ordered a logger off ebay. and hopefully in a couple hours when it's warm enough i can finally get my car runnin again and tap that wire.

I dont have a logger either, but I did set my injector size to "F" which was 600somethingCC's .. and my car will run fine like this ( need that better tune though ). anything else it runs like crap... i dont have any logging yet either, but im using this for now..... can I just get away with an air fuel guage ? sorry just need to know. also on my translator I have "base" "wot" "base" "wot" no idle.... I have translator 2.02. thanks.

oh yeah I got stock injectors 450cc, tried base 2 aux 0 (450cc setting) car bogs out passed 3.5K thanks.

i set all knobs to zero and base to 2(for 450cc injectors) and disconnected the battery to reset ecu but it runs like crap at idle but fine on road. it tries to die at idle but i can drive it fine if not at idle. i also set it to "f" like flipout said but did not reset ecu and it still idled the exact same way. should i leave it at "F" and disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset ecu or something else. anything will help ### i don't wanna keep having it die at stopsigns and stoplights.

You can adjust the idle knob clockwise/richer and counterclockwise/leaner (same as the other knobs for tuning) and adjust the idle accordingly. I had to richen my idle 2 clicks to make it run nice and smooth. Play around with that and watch your idle drop or rise after you make an adjustment and get it to where you like it. Let us know how it turns out.:thumb:

The knobs along the bottom should go like this: Mode switches, Base, Idle, Mid, WOT. Something is wrong if you have stock settings and the car doesn't run properly. I'm curious as to how you have stock intercooler piping (no aftermarket piping listed in your profile) and the MAFT setup. Have you done a boost leak test since the MAFT install. Are you using it as pull through or a blow through setup?

should i start the car, see how it runs, turn it off, richen it, reset ecu, then turn it on again or is there an easier and faster way? can i just leave the car running when adjusting it?

You can start the idle and adjust the car with it on. The red light will blink when it accpets a change.
