soooo quick question. I have a 98 Eclipse gst, my current down pipe is leaking so I’m replacing it with the Megan downpipe. While I’m work on that part of the car I figured might as well replace the headers since I’m there pretty much, delete the resonators, clean the o2 sensors. But anyways LOL I got offered a dnp tubular headers for $60 plus shipping to my house. I kinda was think of getting the forced performance ones but I don’t know too much on dnp other than they are out of business. And google hasn’t been very helpful I only found a post or two and didn’t really say if they were good or not..

I have 16g turbo and the downpipe will probably be 2.5 Inlet 3”outlet if that matters.

What are your thoughts

DNP always crack, so expect that to happen on you, cast is good for alot of most needs everyone has, you wont see any gains going tubular until later on on a bigger turbo! I infact went from tubular to FP cast because its the best way to control heat but also it flows better for the 16G i find. Other have also gone this route for many reasons and a search will list those many threads on why.

It is a little heavier then tubular sure but im not worried about they yet, until i go with a much bigger turbo i wont need a tubular and by then it will be V band anyway so no chkice BUT to go tubular!

So if you want heat protection then get cast, if you want the looks then tubular,

I have had a DNP manifold and have never had an issue. I did read though that the cracking was due to people wrapping the manifold which would cause it to crack.
Wrapping never helps most low grade stainless really, i had to fix one of my friends up its as it cracked by the flange and he had no wrap nor would the wrap of even caused that. They just had an issue with either back purging or penetration
