Ditching Wiper Fluid Stuff

Since my wiper fluid isn't even hooked up and I know I'll never use it I'm gonna scrap what all is part of it and see how much weight I saved. How much do you guys think it'll be?

Not very much. Empty washer fluid reservoir, wiper motor, lines, arms and blades = 2-3 lbs tops.

Damn it might not be worth doing at all. Unless you wanted to fill the spare hole with subs.

Agreed. Probably alot more trouble than it's worth.

I never thought I would 'NEED' fluid until the day I went over the Bay Bridge on my way to Ocean City and a damn Seagull painted my window white.

Trust us that it is more work than needed. You will "ONE DAY" need to clean your window off. Whether it is from a bird or some jackass that decided to dump his coke out the window infront of you on the highway going 75mph.

The rear wiper assembly weighs about 5 pounds, you aren't going to get any noticeable edge from removing it.

Your best weight reductions are:
- spare tire/jack
- A/C components
- Floorboard in the back and plastic paneling
- Rear seats

I pulled mine out, but that's because I'm going to be fiberglassing in a sub enclosure and needed that room. I'm also going to cut out the spare tire supports so that I can use the entire "well". The actual lines and resevoir weighs at most 1-2 lbs. Just empty the fluid out if you are looking for weight savings. Don't bother to take it out, unless you're doing something like i am.
