Hey I was currently in the market for a FP evob16g... My only concern was what other modz do I have to do because my car is an automatic... I know already that I need the evo o2 housing, I got all the supporting modz (their not in my profile)... Do I need to relocate oil and water lines? What do I gotta buy... I did the search - no luck - any help would be great. thanks... I BASICALLY WANNA KNOW WILL IT BOLT UP AND WILL ALL THE LINES MATCH UP...

i have an auto and the same turbo... it is the same. i made my own water lines with an stuff, but you can swap the stock hard lines and run rubber line if you want.

No, it is not necessary.

No, the lines for the turbo will not match. It is not necessary either but you may want to change the exhaust manifold also beings they are very very small and restrict flow :talon:

what if I wanted to buy a PTE SCM 50 trim from Extreme PSI, would it make a noticeable difference on my automatic than the EVO big16g... Would the lag be unbearable for an auto... when would I reach full boost?

well if you wanna blow up your trans then go get the 50 trim. with a shift kit and end cluth plates from what i have heard your trans should be able to hold around 400 horsepower. Also if i was you i would get either turbo externaly gated just for the fact that it will help you lose some of that lag.

The PTE 50 trim hits full boost at 4000rpms on a fully built motor. So offcourse it will be slower on a stock motor. You will need the install kit if you decide to go with the 50 trim :talon:

I personally don't think I could live with 50-trim lag on my 2G auto, although I don't have first-hand experience with it on an A/T car. I would think that on a 1G with your slightly lower compression, it'd be even worse. It can be done, of course--- there's guys on the A/T discussion list running 60-trims. I just wouldn't do it myself, especially with the stock torque converter-- a high-stall unit is practically a must. I say go with the 16G.

Get whatever sized turbo you want. If you seriously have a problem with spool up just use a shot of nitrous off the line. Your stock TC stalls up to 2500 so you hit the juice @2500 til about 10-15 psi and your off. A bigger turbo means better milage for daily driving (less boosting) and in general an overall faster car (atleast thats how I see it) But if you just want a competitive daily driver/autoXer look into the smaller ones fpbig28, evo16, or even smaller but capable 14b and s16g.

If this car is his daily driver (which is likely), I wouldn't think that this would be a practical solution. But if this is just a weekender type car, then yeah, that would be ideal.

What's not practical about it? Do you need full boost driving from light to light, or only when your drag racing? Basically all it means is he wont have boost from 0 - 25 mph, after that full boost is only a down shift away, or a 2 second squeeze off the line.

I got a 97 GSX auto basically stock but my friend just took out his turbo from his gsx but being that his car is a manual doesn't it have a bigger turbo? So.. if I take the stock one from him will it give m eany power? :dsm:

search in the auto forums for that stuff, it end clutch not plate, and if it's a 2gen all the autos and manuels have the same turbo's, the 1g's however come with a smaller turbo, take your buddies 14b from him if he offers

I guess if you look at it that way it's not so bad. I just meant having to hit the nitrous on every takeoff would be too much.

The 2G auto has little torque down low as it is, and slapping on a turbo of this size just seems to me impractical unless you do at least a high-stall TC, and those aren't cheap.

If his car is a 1st gen gsx then yes. If its a 2nd gen then the manual and auto both have the same t25 turbo.

SpoolinTSI: what do i need to do to make the lines match up?

Everyone: I think Imma go with this kit from FP esp. because of the faster spool and this car will be my dailer driver. Will everything from this kit bolt right up to my auto 93 TSI?
THANKS...

The EVO III Big 16G features a slightly larger compressor wheel than the previous Big 16G. It also uses an improved turbine housing design, which offers better boost control, direct fitment with the EVO3 O2 housing, and weighs in 2.75 lbs lighter than the old style 7cm housings.

The EVO III 16G Package #4 includes a ported EVO III Big 16g turbo, ported EVO III O2 Housing, complete gasket set, stainless steel oil supply line kit, CNC oil drain line, Walbro 255lph high pressure fuel pump, fuel pump kit, and a Joe P manual boost controller.

The Complete Gasket set includes a 7cm copper turbine housing inlet gasket, 4 - 14mm copper crush washers for the water connections, 2 - 12mm copper crush washers for the oil inlet on the turbocharger, 2 - 10mm copper crush washers for the oil connection at the cylinder head, 2 paper oil drian gaskets for your oil drain tube between the turbo and the oil pan, EVO3 O2 housing inlet gasket, and EVO3 O2 housing DP gasket

Second Generation DSM will require the use of a J-pipe complete the installation.

I think you'll be happy with that setup. Yeah, everything should bolt up OK. I've heard of some people having problems with that oil return tube leaking, but I think FP has fixed that now.

Looks like FP has got that covered for ya. The picture that you posted has them showing everything that you will need to make an easy bolt on. There supplying you with the oil return and feed lines which is what you need. So your set to go bud. You get that kit and you wont have any problems with installation. Everything there will bolt right up. Like i said before, you should look into an exhaust manifold. Not necessary but you would be more happy :talon:

THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE REPLIES...

Hey SpoolinTSI yeah I'm going to get an aftermarket manifold... I'm stuck between these two:

Slow Boy Racing - will the fully ported runners make a difference?

Any one have experience with these manifolds lemme hear what you'll think... Would it be better to mate the evo 16g with the evo manifold or it doesn't matter? I know the SBR will make more power jus by the pics... but I jus wanna run this by... aite thanks..
