What is the purpose of the little hose that runs from the tranny to the nipple on the dipstick? The dipstick was in the way of my short route intercooler piping and the small hose broke while moving the dipstick around to make room. Is it necessary to have this hose connected?
thank you

I spoke to John (Transdude) from IPT today at the TurboTrix Race event at Englishtown about your post. He said that the tube is a breather tube for the auto trans, it can be replaced with some vac hose or windshield washer hose, so no extra ATF spits out onto your trans or onto your UICP.

for future references just lightly tap the trans dipstick tube with a hammer. very lightly and it'll move out the way... :):thumb:

This didn't work for me. Not even superman could have moved my dipstick tube with a hammer! What I did was get a long flathead screwdriver, stuck it in the tube, and pulled it to where I wanted it...right above the MAS.
