my ecu was bad and i got a new ecu but the the ecu i got was for a 97 gsx and i have a 96 eagle talon tsi fwd.my car wont start, i brought my car to the shop to get it diagnosed and the mechanic said that the timing is messed up so can my ecu have any effect on my car cuz it wont start.

if you have a 97 ecu in a 95-96 car, you need to reverse the firing order

4-1-2-3 to 3-2-1-4 or vise verse.
