Different Antenna?

What other antennas can I put on the eclipse?
My antenna is powered, so do I have to remove the whole assembly?
I was thinking about putting a roof mount antenna like the ones on the Acura TSX.

When I thought about it, it wouldn't work because of the moof roof or sun roof (or what ever style our roofs are) would slide back and may hit it. But do you think it will clear it?
But, what other antennas can I swap out with my antenna and have good reception?
The stock antennas are so tall and it makes the car look like remote controlled cars.

1. remove stock antenna.
2. pull ball off the top of it with plyers or in vice.
3. cut antenna to your likings.
4. drill hole in ball slighlty bigger.
5. slide ball back on and epoxy in place.

I did it on mine (cut the oe antenna down to about 8 inches and the radio still sounds perfect.)

I don't get what you are saying.
Is your antenna powered?

You take off the stock big rc car antenna by unscrewing it. Then you can pull the ball off of the top of it with pliars. Thencut the antenna down to the size that you want it. Then You will notice that the ball no longer with slide back on because the antenna tapers from small (at the top) to big (at the bottom) You will need to slightly drill out the ball to fit over the antenna that you cut because the antenna is wider than it was at the top. You can super glue or epoxy the ball into place.

He is talking about the non-power antenna since it is an RS. The GSX came with a power antenna and thus those instuctions wont really work on it

A stock S2000 antenna can work. You need to get a RS or GS antenna base though. Here's the write up. How to install S2000 antenna on your DSM - Team-2G Mitsubishi Forum

My bad. I was unaware that the antenna was different on the gst/gsx.

Dont waste your money. I have one and its sitting in my room because they suck. Didnt pick up crap. I work at Auto Zone and we have one im gonna try out. Its similar but alot bigger.

I have a s2000 real carbon fiber short antena.. you can buy any aftermarket antena for the s2000 and it will fit as long as you have the non powered antena braket.

Then shave off the stock antenna.

No, I have this one. I went without an antenna for a year, so I don't know how much better it is than the stock one. My car didn't have a power antenna.
