different alternator?

i need to replace the alternator in my 93 talon 1.8. i cant afford to buy one from a parts store and would like to know all of the cars that have an alternator i can use.

does anyone have any clue what other cars i can pull an alternator from?

I believe the 1.8 auto alternator is all to itself, so you'd have to find another 1.8 auto to get an alternator that will work for you without some kind of modification.

Were you planning on pulling one out of a junkyard car? I'd just save up to get one from an auto store, at least i'd know for sure it would be good alternator (with some kind of warranty). Your call though.

A mitsu master tech that I used to work with said that Saturn alternators are really really good for dsm's. However though I know nothing about the 1.8 so maybe do a little more research.

i would gladly save up and wait but have no choice its my only car and i drive 1.5 hours to work everyday.

i had to jump my car 11 times last night to get home.
